“I didn’t figure out I wanted to do medical school until 3 years after graduation. I worked before then. And I’m pretty sure I got into medical school because of my previous work experience. I have many years of research starting in undergrad and I am still doing it now! I started with stroke research and then went into NICU graduate research. It was such a big change for me because I went from working with really old adults to really little humans. I was able to see phenomenal physicians going the extra mile for their little patients and their families. It was incredible to be a part of that team. This is when I realized I wanted to be a doctor! I wanted to lead that team one day.”
